Our city is flocked with youngsters who will inspire you without even trying. Here are two such youngsters. Vhishal CB Swamy and Prajin, a CA student and a BBM student, have started free dance classes for anyone who wishes to learn. “All dance classes these days are so expensive and there are always those who can’t afford it or their parents refuse to shell out so much money. We started Performance Development Sessions (PDS) for them. At the end of January, we’ll have a final production and the proceeds will go to the underprivileged through my father’s NGO, Unnati,” says  Vhishal.

By teaching dance in Vhishal’s garage or on a friend’s terrace, the duo is spreading the joy of emoting one’s hidden feelings. “When I watch people, closing their eyes and dancing in my class, it’s beautiful! It’s like a painting,” says 19-year old Vhishal. Prajin adds that, “While most dance schools concentrate on fitness and physicality, we teach them dance in depth, full with theory and written notes as well! We want each of their individualities to come out through dance.” Both students of Richard David Tholoor, a finalist of India’s Got Talent, not only like to dance, but love music as well! “I love music. It’s my first love. I used to play the mridangam long back and through dance, I tried to keep up with the beats, but it’s too quick and tough. After those quick beats, hip-hop beats were fairly simple,” Vhishal smiles, going on that it has always been a his dream to start a dance school. “We want people to learn because dance can create such beautiful things. And we have some really interested people and whether they’re talented or not, we’ll be satisfied at the end of the class that they have learnt something,” he adds. But for both of them, it is also a learning process. “We are not particular about the dance form. We want people to improve as human beings on the whole. Some people have this fear of auditioning at places. We want them to overcome that. So we ask them to come and teach as well, to learn about the pressures and responsibilities of life,” Prajin concludes.
